Introduction to the work of Gemma Cooper

My work deals strongly with social and historical connections, there is an underlying of memory, belonging and also suffering.
I’m very interested in artists that deal with the darker times of life and how they portray this in their work. I make work that links to past disasters such as the holocaust and also post apocalypse.
I have recently moved into a more sculptural medium with the development of the work.
